About Monument Valley 2

Monument Valley 2 is the sequel to ustwo games’ celebrated puzzle adventure, and it keeps the same idea: rotate and reshape impossible architecture until a path appears. The big change is the story. Instead of one silent princess, you now guide a mother named Ro and her child through a series of colourful structures, with the pair sometimes working together and sometimes needing to separate. The game can be played on its own, so you do not need to know the first one.

How the puzzles work
You tap to move the characters and drag handles, wheels and sliders to change the building. Perspective is the main trick. Two paths that look disconnected may meet when you turn a tower or line up an edge from a certain angle. The second game adds new ideas, including moments where the child acts independently from the parent, which opens up puzzles that need two characters. The puzzles are meant to be understood by observing, not by trial and error, and there is no timer or penalty.

Story and tone
The narrative is told without long text. It follows the relationship between the two characters and uses the architecture as a metaphor for guidance and growing up. Many players find the tone gentle and moving, and it is a calm experience that suits quiet moments. The game also contains an additional short chapter created in support of forest conservation, which was added in a later update.

Art and sound
The visual design draws on a mix of architectural styles, bright colour palettes and clean geometry. Each chapter has its own mood, from soft pastels to deeper evening tones. The soundtrack responds to your actions, so headphones are recommended.

Length and replay value
Most players finish the main story in a few hours. There is limited replay value in terms of new puzzles, but some people return to enjoy the art and music.

Price and purchases
Like the first game, Monument Valley 2 has been sold as a premium title, meaning you pay once rather than receiving a free game filled with advertising. Prices and offers vary by region and time, so check the official store page before installing. Avoid unofficial copies, which can be unsafe.

Tips when stuck
Try every interactive element, even those that seem decorative. Look for edges that can line up from a different angle. Pay attention to how the characters can help each other, since a puzzle may require one to wait in a particular spot. If you feel stuck, take a break and return later with fresh eyes.

Who it suits
It suits players who enjoy atmosphere and design more than challenge. It is a good choice for relaxed family play, since the content is gentle. Those who want difficult logic puzzles or competitive features should look elsewhere.

How it compares
Compared with the first game, it feels more personal because of its mother-and-child story, and the puzzles are slightly more varied. Compared with Mekorama, it is more narrative and polished.

Our take
Monument Valley 2 is a short, beautiful sequel that builds on the original without losing its charm. When you are ready, the official Google Play link is on this page.
