Clever Crow
Puzzle · plays in your browserAbout Clever Crow
Based on the old tale of the thirsty crow, this physics puzzle asks you to raise the water in a tall jar by dropping objects into it. Which objects you pick, and when, decides the result.
How Clever Crow plays
The crow must raise the water level in a long-necked jar by tossing objects in until it can drink. The challenge is choosing which objects to drop, and in which order, so that the water rises enough.
Tips for playing better
- Large objects displace more water, but they need room, so place them first.
- Watch how objects settle before throwing the next one.
- If you run out of options, restart the level and try a different order.
How to approach your first rounds
The first levels are gentle and teach how objects displace water. Try dropping the largest object first and see how much the level rises, then use smaller ones for the finishing touches.
Our notes on Clever Crow
This puzzle borrows an old fable and turns it into a physics exercise about volume and order. What makes it useful as a brain break is that failure is cheap: a level restarts quickly, so you can test an idea in seconds. Try to predict the water level before you drop an object. Predicting first, then checking, is the habit that makes physics puzzles click, and it is the same method described in our puzzle guide.
