About Helix Jump
Helix Jump is a hyper-casual arcade game from Voodoo in which you guide a bouncing ball down a tall tower. The tower is made of stacked rings with gaps, and you rotate the whole tower with your finger so that the ball drops through the gaps from one level to the next. Some segments of the rings are coloured differently and are dangerous. If the ball lands on one of those, the run ends. The goal is to get to the bottom of each tower without touching a hazard segment.
How the controls work
You drag your finger left or right to turn the tower. The ball bounces automatically, so you do not control it directly. You only decide where the gap is when the ball comes down. Timing and rhythm matter more than speed. Early levels have wide gaps and few dangerous segments, while later towers add narrower openings, moving parts and more hazards. When the ball falls through several rings in a row without touching one, it builds up speed and can smash through the next section, which gives you a short moment of invincibility and a bonus.
Levels and progress
Each tower counts as a level, and there are many of them. Your score is based on how far you get and on the points earned by passing rings. You can unlock different ball designs, which are only cosmetic. The game also has a mode that tracks your best result in an endless tower, which gives you a reason to keep practising even after you complete the standard levels.
Tips that help
Keep your eyes slightly ahead of the ball and look for the safe gap before it arrives. Turn the tower in small steps, because large swipes can move the safe area beyond reach. Try not to rush. A steady rhythm usually works better than quick reactions. When the ball starts to fall quickly, resist the urge to correct too much. Practise the smash combo by planning two or three rings in advance. If you are struggling with a level, pause and look at the pattern of dangerous segments before moving again.
Ads, purchases and play time
Helix Jump is free and, like many hyper-casual games, shows advertising between levels or after failing a run. Some versions offer an optional purchase to remove ads. Because levels are short, you can easily keep playing for longer than you intended, so consider setting a timer. If a child plays, review in-app purchase controls and check that the version you install is the official one.
Who it suits
It suits anyone who wants a game that can be learned in seconds and played for a minute at a time. It is a good choice for younger players and for adults who like simple, reflex-based challenges. Players who prefer depth, story or a variety of modes may find it repetitive.
How it compares
Compared with Doodle Jump, the ball moves downward rather than upward, and you control the world rather than the character. Compared with Color Switch, it relies on rotation instead of tapping.
Our take
Helix Jump is a tidy, addictive arcade game with a clear idea. If it sounds like a good fit, install it through the official link on this page.
